Kera Desktop is an independence DE, not only that, it also based on web technology The more I read the website of the project, the more I see that it has many great features and ideas as I expected!

Performance skeptical
Many people when they hear "web-based" immediately doubt the project's performance, don't know if it will run on the Thinkpad with 0.5gb ram... I recommend you take a look at the project's FAQ. I guarantee it will answer most of your skeptical.
